Indianapolis Parade of Homes: Cottage Style Homes at Inglenook
Friday, April 20th, 2012
Last week’s turnout for the first weekend of the Indianapolis Parade of Homes was a huge success for both traffic and sales at Inglenook!
The Parade of Homes is a great way to see many different types of Indianapolis new homes, and we were excited to introduce so many new people to the pocket neighborhood concept and our cottage style homes designed by award-winning architect Ross Chapin.
This weekend is sure to be a big turnout as well! Here’s a few reasons why Inglenook is a must-see on the Parade of Homes Tour:
Cottage Style Homes Designed by Ross Chapin
Inglenook features the only new home community of cottage style homes designed by award-winning Ross Chapin in the entire Midwest! The cottages combine the charm and quality of 1920’s cottage-style bungalows with all of the conveniences and energy efficiency of a new home to create a “new traditional neighborhood.” Each cottage features a large front porch, detailed woodwork, tall ceilings, and generous light and storage.
The homes also feature flexible spaces you won’t find in other Indianapolis new homes such as finished attics, mudroom/office, upstairs bedrooms with skylights and walk-out terraces, and more (varies per plan).
The Midwest’s Only New Pocket Neighborhood
Inglenook is the only pocket neighborhood of Ross Chapin designed cottages currently being developed in the entire Midwest. Pocket neighborhoods are a concept that have been featured in national press including USA Today for their emphasis on sustainable land use and creating a sense of community and belonging for residents. In his book “Pocket Neighborhoods: Creating Small-Scale Living in a Large-Scale World,” Ross Chapin explains, “…a resident will feel a sense of arriving home, an invited guest will feel welcome, and a stranger will feel they’ve crossed into private territory. This is the first layer of personal space.”
Limited Opportunity, Limited Time
Inglenook features 27 cottage style homes and many have already been sold. In fact, traffic and sales have tripled in the first 3 months of 2012!
Experience Inglenook for yourself. Visit this weekend during the Parade of Homes tour on Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Inglenook is located on the south side of 99th Street between Westfield Boulevard and Keystone Avenue at the intersection of 99th and Hodges Drive in Carmel, Indiana.

2012 Indianapolis Parade of Homes Features Inglenook in Carmel
Thursday, April 12th, 2012
We’re excited to be included in the 2012 Indianapolis Parade of Homes Tour this year, and our team is busy getting our newest cottages ready for dusty boot tours this Saturday and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
What makes Inglenook a must-see on this year’s Indy Parade of Homes Tour?
Ross Chapin Designed Cottage Style Homes
The moment you walk into one of the cottage style homes at Inglenook you know that these are no ordinary new homes. Designed by award-winning architect Ross Chapin, author of Pocket Neighborhoods: Creating Small-Scale Community in a Large-Scale World. Each cottage is designed around the idea of simple living in exceptionally designed spaces. Each home is filled with light from privacy-enhancing skylights, finished with custom woodworking and built-ins, and designed to make everyday spaces feel special: a built in kitchen nook, a loft attic, a walk-out terrace.
Our well-designed homes enable families to function with less space when there is ample light and adequate storage space, saving families time and money.
Pocket Neighborhoods Offer Sense of Community
At Inglenook, the outside areas are as integral to the home as the interior spaces. Each cottage features a “porch room,” a generously sized front porch ideal for impromptu neighborhood gatherings and lazy summer afternoons. Porch areas look out over common courtyards designed to inspire conversation, interaction, and community.
But our beauty is more than skin deep. Our low-impact site centralizes the landscaped areas with native and drought tolerant plants that create a beautiful garden setting with minimal maintenance and resources compared to other single family homes.
Get 2012 Parade of Homes Tour Details
Come and visit Inglenook this weekend between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to tour the cottages and find out more about the pocket neighborhood concept. Inglenook is located on the south side of 99th Street between Westfield Boulevard and Keystone Avenue at the intersection of 99th and Hodges Drive in Carmel, Indiana.

Indianapolis Featured New Home: The Coho Cottage at Inglenook
Wednesday, January 25th, 2012
Discovering the right home – that aha moment that you feel when you first walk in – is one of life’s great joys. Like finding the love of your life, sometimes you just know.
It’s about more than bedroom and bathroom counts or square footage – although those things do matter. It’s about how you feel in the home. How you envision your life there: the countless memories that you will create with family and friends.
Your home is the place where you feel most inspired.
A good home will make you feel that way with the right décor. A great home will make you feel that way even when it is completely empty; a blank canvas for you to fill in.
That’s the way you’ll feel as soon as you walk in to our Coho cottage, a very unique Indiana new home.
Small in Size, but Big on Charm
Our Coho cottage style home is a two bedroom, two and a half bath cottage with gleaming maple floors, a spacious kitchen, a dining alcove, a full bedroom and bathroom on the main floor, and a large front porch.
It’s a home that is reminiscent of the charm of a 1920’s bungalow, but with all of the conveniences of modern design: skylights, gas fireplace, walk-in closets, and an attached garage.
The Coho features a private second floor retreat with bedroom, bathroom, and generous closet space, perfect for a master suite, an office, a craft room, or a kid’s room.
Discover your own aha moment this weekend. Visit the Coho between 3p and 5p this Saturday and Sunday. You can also schedule a showing by contacting Same Hawkins at (317) 580-7854 or sam@talktotucker.com.

Carmel, IN Real Estate Trends: Time to Upgrade?
Tuesday, January 17th, 2012
If you’ve been looking for a good time to sell your existing home and move into a new home in Carmel, IN, we’ve got great news. Recent trends in Carmel, IN real estate indicate that now may be a great time to sell and consider a move into a new home like the cottage style homes at Inglenook.
Whether you want to move up to a larger home, move down to a smaller home, or just move into a better neighborhood, here’s a few key trends in the real estate market that may work in your favor:
Inventory of Existing Homes is Down
Inventory of existing homes for sale in Carmel, IN was down 8.8% in November (source), indicating that there are fewer homes for buyers to choose from. Selling your home when inventory levels are lower means that you have less competition for buyers and your home may sell more quickly.
Prices are on the Rise
The average price for a sold home rose 19.1% in November from $314,000 to $374,000. As inventory levels of available homes go down, supply and demand can drive prices up – and that can mean good news for Sellers. Maximizing the price on your current home increases your purchasing power for a new home. This can translate to a bigger home, more upgrades to personalize your home, or just an extra financial cushion.
Home Prices Are Still Historically Low
Of course, the right timing for selling your home also depends on the value of purchasing a new home. As prices on existing homes rise, prices for new homes in Carmel IN are still at historical lows, so you can make the move to a new home much more affordably than a few years ago.
There are additional advantages as well: buying a new home can often mean a lower cost of ownership once you move in. Fewer repairs, lower monthly energy bills, and low maintenance costs can help your new home purchase pay off in the long term and the short term.
Find out more about if now is the right time to consider a new home purchase. Visit Inglenook and tour our brand new homes this weekend and speak with an experienced real estate professional. Our homes are open from 3p – 5p.
Can’t make it this weekend? No problem! We’re happy to schedule a tour of our homes at a time that fits your schedule. Simply complete the request below and we’ll call you to confirm your appointment.

Carmel Indiana Real Estate: Cottage Style New Homes
Tuesday, January 10th, 2012
Are you feeling overwhelmed by looking for a new home? Are you having a hard time remembering one kitchen from the next? Do all of the family rooms look the same?
If house hunting is leaving you feeling uninspired about making a move to your next home, we’ve got good news. The cottage style homes at Inglenook offer an escape from the ordinary with designs that are as unique as they are functional. One look at Inglenook and you’ll wonder why everyone doesn’t build homes this way.
Here are just a few of the features that you won’t find in any ordinary new home:
Charming Cottage Curb Appeal
When driving through a neighborhood of ordinary new homes for sale in Carmel, IN, do they all seem to look alike? Big garage-fronted homes feel boxy and uninspired. The homes at Inglenook are designed with garages in back so when friends and family come to visit they see your home, not your cars parked in the driveway.
Bright, Sunny Interiors
Don’t let the winter blues set in. At Inglenook, each home is designed to provide maximum natural light all year long for bright spaces in almost every room. Rise and shine with bedroom skylights or share a morning cup of coffee in a sunny kitchen nook.
Privacy By Design
Ordinary neighborhoods feature homes with peek-a-boo windows that offer little privacy. At Inglenook, each cottage style home is positioned to maximize privacy between neighbors with layered windows and skylights throughout each home.
Beauty By Design
Few things make you feel as special as owning a beautiful home. At Inglenook, we understand that true beauty is not about how you adorn a home, but how it feels before you have moved in a single box. The cottages at Inglenook feature details you won’t find in an ordinary home such as gleaming maple floors, exquisite woodwork detail, and spacious front porches that live like another room of your house.
Neighborhood
Ordinary neighborhoods focus on streets as thoroughfares. Neighbors drive in and drive out, sometimes without ever learning the names of people who live around them. At Inglenook, streets and open shared courtyards are designed to create a connection between neighbors without compromising privacy.
The homes at Inglenook are classic, charming cottage style homes that inspire exceptional living. Visit Inglenook today for information about a limited number of immediate move-in homes. Contact Sam Hawkins at (317) 580-7854 or email sam@talktotucker.com to schedule a showing.
After all, you can’t live an exceptional life in an ordinary home.
